Your basic-phone PIN
How your PIN works on a basic phone, and what happens after wrong tries. Never share your PIN; Nomapay will never ask for it.
You choose a 4 to 6 digit PIN when you sign up on a basic phone. It approves every payment.
Never share it. Nomapay will never ask for your PIN, by phone, text or in person.
Wrong tries
- 3 wrong tries lock your PIN for 1 hour. After that, you can try again.
- 10 wrong tries lock it until you recover it, in the app.
After a PIN reset
For 24 hours after a reset, risky actions are paused: no large sends, no raised limits, no guardian changes. See the safety window.
Keep it safe
- Don't use your birthday, or a number like 1234.
- Cover the keypad when you type it.
- We only ever store a scrambled form of your PIN, never the PIN itself.
