New phone? The 24-hour safety window

For 24 hours after you sign in on a new phone, Nomapay pauses risky actions, so a SIM thief can't act quietly. Here is what is paused and why.

For 24 hours after you sign in on a new phone, Nomapay pauses the actions a thief would want most. The same window applies after you reset a basic-phone PIN or recover your account.

What you can still do

  • Receive money.
  • Make small payments.
  • Check your balance and activity.

What waits until the window ends

  • Adding a new bank or mobile-money account.
  • Raising your limits.
  • Changing your guardians.
  • Large sends.

The app shows when the window ends.

Alerts on your other phones

Your other signed-in phones get an alert: "New sign-in. Not you? Tap to stop it." If it wasn't you, tap it straight away.

Why it exists

Someone who steals your SIM can get a sign-in code. They cannot get your face or fingerprint key, and the window means they would not get a quiet 24 hours either. See SIM swap.

A shorter wait

Add a second factor (your key on another device, or an authenticator app) and the window is 1 hour instead of 24.
