Using Nomapay on a basic phone

How Nomapay is designed to work on any phone with a short code: check your balance, send, buy airtime, with a PIN and text receipts.

Coming soon. Basic-phone use is not live yet. Short codes will be listed per country when it is.

Nomapay is designed to work on any phone, without the internet. You dial a short code and use simple menus, with a PIN.

Signing up

  1. Dial the Nomapay short code for your country. Your number comes from your mobile network, so there is no code to type.
  2. Enter your name.
  3. Choose a 4 to 6 digit PIN, and enter it again.
  4. Done. A text message confirms it.

The menu

1 Balance · 2 Send · 3 Airtime · 6 My account

Each screen is short (160 characters or fewer), so it works on any phone.

Sending

  1. Enter the recipient's number (any country).
  2. Enter the amount.
  3. A separate screen shows exactly what you are sending, to whom, and the fee. Choose 1 to confirm or 2 to cancel.
  4. Enter your PIN.

The amount and the confirmation are never on the same screen, so you always see what you are agreeing to.

Good to know

  • A text receipt for everything.
  • Large sends wait 24 hours, and the text tells you how to cancel. See large transfers.
  • Basic-phone accounts have lower limits than accounts in the app.
  • Get a smartphone later? Move to the app and keep the same account and history, after a 72-hour safety wait.
