Common questions

Is Nomapay a bank?

No. Nomapay is a financial technology company: an app that lets you hold and send dollars by phone number. Your money stays in your own account, and only you can move it.

Can Nomapay take or freeze my money?

No. Only you can move it. Every payment is approved with your face or fingerprint, and Nomapay has no key to your account. The Security page explains each protection, and its honest limits.

What if I lose my phone?

Sign in on your new phone with your phone number, a code by SMS or WhatsApp and your face or fingerprint. If you use the same Apple or Google account, your key is already there.

If it is truly gone, you can recover your account with your two guardians, after a 72-hour wait that you can cancel if it was not you.

Is sending really free?

Yes. Sending to anyone, in any country, is free. So are receiving and holding. Cash-out and bills cost 1% + the rate shown, and every fee is shown before you confirm.

How do I cash out?

To your bank or mobile money, where available. You see what you get, the rate and the fee before you confirm with your face, and it is usually paid within minutes. Cash-out is available in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria.

Which countries?

You can hold, send and receive dollars by phone number in any country. Cash-out, bills and buying dollars are available in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria. The Countries page shows what is available where.

Still stuck?

Good to know. Nomapay is a financial technology company, not a bank. Digital dollars (USDC, USDT) are issued by Circle and Tether. Cash-outs, bill payments and dollar purchases are processed by our licensed payment partners. Availability varies by country.
