I lost my phone

What to do if your phone is lost or stolen, and how to get back into your account on a new phone.

1 min read

Your money is not on your phone. It stays in your own account, and a thief with your phone still needs your face or fingerprint to approve a payment.

Do this now

  1. Get your SIM blocked by your mobile network, and ask for a replacement with the same number.
  2. Secure your Apple or Google account: change its password and check its two-step sign-in. Your key syncs through it.
  3. If you have Nomapay on another phone, keep it close: it will alert you to any new sign-in, and you can stop one from there.

Sign in on your new phone

  1. Install Nomapay and enter your phone number.
  2. Type the code we send by SMS or WhatsApp.
  3. Approve with your face or fingerprint. If the new phone uses the same Apple or Google account, your key is already there.

For 24 hours after signing in on a new phone, risky actions are paused. See the safety window.

Key truly gone?

If your new phone doesn't have your key, you can recover your account with your guardians.

On a basic phone

Get a replacement SIM with the same number from your mobile network. Your PIN is still needed for every payment.
